Teenagers of today

Teenagers can view a problem from different perspectives and they can think about many possible solutions to a problem. Teens are influenced by their emotions when they make decisions about how they will act. They are drawn to experiences that are exciting or “new” and they are risk takers. They think about the consequences of what they do differently than adults. This may mean that sometimes teens do things that adults think are dangerous or risky, but teens are convinced that they are being VERY reasonable. . As a result, many are troubled by things adults never had to relate to and the solution doesn't seem easy to come by. Understanding the world they grow up in will help us to see where they are coming from.
Young people have not had the privilege of having heroes in their generation, political and military men are depicted as dishonest people who can't be trusted. Sports stars are shown as beer drinkers and coke snorers. Religious leaders are defined by 1 or 2 sex scandals and are categorized as dishonest crooks.
